What is there to see in Massachusetts?
Witches, pirates and freedom. This state is rich with interesting history.
Salem

We began the day with a dark sides of history…we saw a little recreation of a witch trial and then they take you on a tour through a recreation of the Salem dungeons.

Then we went on a pirate museum tour where we were told a lot of really…interesting…and brutal stories.

We met up with friends in Boston and started a tour of the city with some original Boston creme pie at Omni Parker house. Yum.

Freedom Walk
The following are all the stops we made on the freedom trail. I must not have done enough research about this walk before experiencing it… because I didn’t even know it was an actual red brick path! I thought we’d have to navigate through all the stops with a map or something, so that was a pleasant surprise.

Most freedom trail tours start at Boston Common, so that’s where we began, at America’s oldest park.

Massachusetts State House

Park Street Church

Granary Burying Ground

Kings Chapel and Burying Ground

Old City Hall/Boston Latin School and Benjamin Franklin Statue

Old Corner Bookstore…which is now a Chipotle

Old South Meeting House

Old State House

Boston Massacre Site

We caught a performance in Quincy Marketplace…this is what I love about big cities; performers everywhere just having a fun time.

Faneuil Hall

New England Holocaust Memorial…this is very powerful.

Boston Public Market…I wish I lived here just for this market!

Paul Revere House

Old North Church

Copps Hill Burying Ground

USS Constitution

Bunker Hill Monument…we saw this one from afar…because our legs were tired.

We weren’t able to go into many of the buildings, but walking through the streets of Boston and imagining all the things that people went through for our country; that was a phenomenal experience.

This walk gave me time to think about the freedoms I enjoy everyday and how much that freedom means to me. My sweet Grandmother passed away a few days ago and I cannot express adequately what I feel towards those that made it possible for my hard working, ever serving Grandmother to live in a country with so much opportunity. She taught her children about the truths and morals she learned and lived throughout her life and my life has been changed because of it. I am in awe of all the imperfect people in American history that had a vision of what the world could be and were willing to give a lot to make it happen.

I’m so excited to see these things first hand!!! Looks amazing ❤
