What is there to see in New York?
Travel is not all sunshiny all the time…this morning was pretty crazy. We did some more research and had a lot of back and forth answers regarding if we need to get a covid test or not…so we decided to get one just in case. The morning was filled with calls and calls and calls. We found a place really close to our hotel in New Jersey (Urgent Medical Care and MRI of New Jersey) and obtained our tests. It was spendy, but they do a rapid test first, which is so nice for my nerves. Then they do the second test, PCR, and send it out quickly. They promised we would have our results by tomorrow at 3 pm…so hopefully that will be the case. We are both vaccinated and both tested negative! One step closer to our next adventure!
Weehawken Dueling Grounds
We stopped by a plaque that’s here and a statue of Hamilton.
This is in New Jersey above the Hudsen. It’s a very historical place and also has amazing views of New York. We then took the Lincoln tunnel (which is underneath the Hudson!) to New York!
Big Bus
We decided to get this hop on hop off tour to see more of the city in the limited time we have. The recommendation was to start outside the M&M store in Time Square…so that’s what we did! The bus had an open roof and we sat up top to see as much as possible. There are so many awesome buildings and sites! Some of those sites included; the Empire State Building, Supreme Court, the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, and the 9/11 memorial and museum.
M&M’s
We completed the whole loop on the bus and got back off at M&M’s World. Never have I ever seen so many M&M’s!
Hershey’s Chocolate World
We had to stop in this store too! The guy at the front told us they are the only place that has ice cream flavored candy bars…so we tried the cookies and mint and birthday cake flavors. Very delicious.
Central Park
We headed to Central Park for a little evening walk and the sunset was breathtaking. This park is huge! I’ve heard about it all my life but never realized just how enormous it is.
Time Square
I knew it was getting late…but I would not have been able to tell the sun had gone down while in Time Square. I’ve never been surrounded by so many bright screens. I absolutely love the energy here. Seeing all the people running around having a blast was a pretty cool sight.
