Welcome to Cushy Tush Travel!
My goal with this blog is to provide honest feedback and insight concerning my travels and life experiences. Here’s a little preview/background about me and my favorite adventure buddy.
My husband and I were married in 2017. We found out quickly that we are not your typical extreme adventure seekers. You won’t find us backpacking for weeks at a time or BASE jumping, etc…but we do love adventure. We hike a ton and seek out amazing sights; indoors and outdoors. Dirt doesn’t scare us and neither do fancy dinners. Being uncomfortable under the hot sun is fine too as well as spending hours in a museum. We love it all but when the day is over, nothing is better than a shower and a comfortable bed to sleep in. Over the years we have discovered that we are cushy travelers and we are okay with that. We are happy with our level of adventure!
My husband and I have a lot of similarities but we are also very different. He is extremely prepared while I like to wing it. He methodically things about a task while I move full steam ahead without thinking at all. He likes to complete jobs quickly and I like to take the longest amount of time possible. Needless to say, our adventures are fun and it’s been a learning curve. I am learning how to be safer and my appreciation for being prepared is increasing slowly. I probably owe the fact that I’m still breathing and walking to my husband and a lot of angels.
If you’ve read this far, I’m surprised! Here’s some more about me! I am the type of person that gets bored quickly when I feel like my life is made up of identical days. My school history proves this is true. I studied geology, culinary arts, home and family, and finally graduated with a nursing degree. I enjoyed every class I took, except for chemistry. I have had various jobs since the age of ten. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 18 months and worked as a nurse for two years. Through all of this, I never gave myself a chance to sit back and think about what would be next or what else I would like to accomplish during my life. Don’t get me wrong, I have loved every stage of my life and have learned so much and would not change anything; but I am not yet satisfied. I still don’t know exactly what is next, but I do know that I will continue to build my adventure resume for the rest of my life.
